It is a mixed yishuv of about 8500 people (if you include Ma'ale Shomron) that is more religious than secular, and more Ashkenazi than Sephardi. Most families are couples with young children. Educational choices are good for young children; there are many ganim, and elementary schools for both religious and secular children. There are fewer options for high school, and many children attend school in nearby communities, such as Kedumim, Alfei Menashe, and Kfar Saba. There is a lot of housing available for purchase, less if you are looking to rent. There is something to meet almost any budget (older townhomes sell for a million nis or less). Be aware that we experience frequent power outages during the summer months (at least once a week) - they are not usually long, but they can be very inconvenient. Internet (depending on your plan) is generally very good, and this is said from someone who works primarily from home online. There is a small mall on the yeshuv that includes a supermarket and covers most basic needs; pet shop, bank, spice shop, toy store, couple of clothing stores, stock store, electronics store, jewler, optician, pharmacy, etc. There is another supermarket in Maale Shomron (which is attached to the yeshuv by a backroad), and a few makalot scattered throughout the neighborhoods. There are few take-out/eat-in options; three or four pizza places, burger, sushi, and a falafel stand. Shufersol delivers here once or twice a week, possibly Ramy Levy as well. Public transportation is said to be good - runs regularly and frequently. Depending on your lifestyle, you could very much get by with one car for a family.
