Having moved around many cities in Israel, I settled in Netanya, Ir Yamim for it being my favourite of all. I like it for its quiet, peaceful lifestyle and cleanliness. Imagine a fusion of mini Miami mixed with Little Paris. The people are friendly and welcoming and the entire neighborhood is a crockpot of different cultures. Everything you need and more is on your doorstep and they just keep adding! Of course there is the odd gripe here and there but what city doesn’t have its corrupt mayor or back hand payment real estate agent?
Other than that, Ir Yamim is wonderful for young families, Older families, retirees, empty nesters, millennials, Gen X’s, Gen Y’s, thirtysomethings still living with their parents, basically there is something for everyone here! There’s also a nature reserve next door that blooms black Irises once a year which is something quite spectacular and if the Iriya plan to build 6 new hotels on the beach front, then at least they can’t take the protected nature reserve away from us!
